Resources about On-line Communities of Practice

One reference that J.P. Gee (2005) makes about communities of practice is Lave and Wenger, 1991.

Another resource I found in the Book Fair at the AERA 2006 Conference is a book edited by Elizabeth A. Ashburn and Robert E. Floden titled Meaningful Learning Using Technology: What educators need to know and do. This is a new publication by Teachers College, NY, NY, 2006. The first two chapters set the theory and then several examples are presented, mostly about Science and Social Studies. At end of the book the editors also included a set of chapters on professional development.
