"El que busca, encuentra"

I suppose this Spanish saying would be the same as "If you build it, they will come!" -- Remember the Kevin Cosner movie? -- This is how I felt after going to the library this weekend. There is so much to read about --and to get distracted with -- that in order to be thorough I have decided to check the journals number by number, revising the table of contents and trying to read the abstracts of those articles that seem to have something to do with my topic. It is incredible, because the feeling of being lost I had last week is coming down. I have found great resources that allows me to continue and have a better idea of how I should keep going with Chapter 2.

Comments:
I think that my main worry when writing chapter 2 was not having everything I needed. I started by writing about Technology in Mathematics Education. For this I used some of the readings and papers I had written.

Then I figured out how to tie it to distance learning in mathematics and online resources for mathematics. Putting these topics together I was also able to talk about asynchronous communication.

But then I realized, I needed more on collaboration, community building, knowledge construction, interactivity, and even reflection. All of these concepts are related to the theoretical perspective I am using in my research; that is, social constructionism.

So I had to go back to the library. Because I have searched the online library catalogue, I looked at Educational Technology, a magazine that is not indexed in the library database. And after looking at the articles for the last five years, I felt a lot better; with the tools to keep going and hopefully finishing chapter 2 by the end of the month.
